On the 4th of April 2024 the Italian government has officially introduced the Digital Nomad Visa, a programme aimed at attracting talented professionals to the Bel Paese. The scheme grants remote workers from non-EU countries a 1-year permit, which can be extended. For many, this is a dream come true. When working remotely is a reality, why not living la Dolce Vita?
Unlike other Digital Nomad Visa Programmes, the Italian one differs in that it is aimed at highly skilled workers who fulfill a specific set of requirements, including a minimal annual income.
Non-EU citizens
Non-EU citizens are eligible to apply for the Italy Digital Nomad Visa Programme
Highly Skilled
The Italian Digital Visa is intended for highly skilled workers with extended experience
Minimal income
The annual income required to apply for the Italy Nomad Visa is €28,000 ($30,000).
Rental & Insurance
The applicant needs to prove health insurance coverage and accomodation for 1 year

– E vidence of a place to stay
SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

Processing time may vary but typically takes a few weeks
APPLY FOR A RESIDENCY PERMIT
Within 8 days of arriving in Italy, apply for a “permesso di soggiorno” (residence permit) at the local immigration office.
